Tub Faucet: Hot And Cold Are Reversed

I replaced the broken plastic tub/shower water control handle with an identical one. Now the hot/cold water is reversed. How do I fix it.

Is it a Moen single handle faucet? I'll bet it is.

Moen faucets can easily be reversed. All you need to do is remove the handle, and turn the metal shaft 180 degrees with a pair of needle-nose pliers, then replace the plastic handle. Just don't remove the Y-shaped clip that holds the cartridge in place, or you'll get very wet.

Let me know if this doesn't work.
